2 · Maintenance Process
Incoming checkAfter cleaning, inspect roll wear / grooving, doctors, end seals and bearings.
Roll surfacesCheck wear, grooves and corrosion; grind or repair as needed.
Doctor renewalLift old blade off the face with adjuster screws; fit new blade against beam guide edge; lower into place. Full-length contact, never force against the face
Nip gapShim the movable-roll position; set A-nip to process value.
End sealsInspect / replace; optional pneumatic pressure seals to reduce seal water.
BearingsInspect roll bearings; clean / replace grease; optional external circulation-lube unit.
HydraulicsCheck hydraulic system pressure and movement.
Refit & adjustRefit doctor beams; re-verify nip and blade contact.
Trial runJog → ramp up; check blade contact, end-seal leakage, bearing temperature and filtrate.
